1 Corinthians 14:34 & 1 Timothy. 2:12
Posted in Uncategorized on November 13th, 2006 by His HolinessA week ago, a woman, Katharine Jefferts Schori took office as the presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church in the United States. She is the first woman to hold the title of presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church in the United States (ECUSA).
More information regarding her appointment to this office can be found at the following link:

Knowing that the ELCA has ordained women for over 30 years now, but that no other American Lutheran church body, (such as the Missouri Synod) does so, your task for this week is to consider the practice of female ordination, and explain why some churches might not permit women to be ordained, while other churches, including the ELCA do.
Keep in mind that the ECUSA and the ELCA are almost sister church bodies, and have agreements in place making it possible to exchange clergy. In other words, a Lutheran pastor may serve as a priest in an Episcopal church, and vice versa.

I think that it is a good thing that we have a women bishop of the Episcopal Church in the United States. She is the first women to have the great honor of doing this. Having a new bishop it helps create new feelings. She will be able to help the church in her own ideas. Katherine can make a stronger affect on different subjects. Katherine thinks that the church should ordain gays and bless same-sex couples, though she insists she won’t impose her views on others. So basically she she will say things that won’t intentionally offend people. She wants to help the church and I think that it will be a good thing to have a female for a change. Kathering Jefferts Schori dediced to persue full-time ministry after federal funding for her scientific research dried up. She was ordained in 1994. Katherine Jefferts Schori has spent her life tackling outsized challenges. So yes a Lutheran pastor can serve in an Episcopal church. If the female is going to do a better job than the male, then she can be the one. This is what I feel about the female bishop of the Episcopal Church in the United States.

This is what I feel about the female bishop of the Episcopal Church in the United States. I like it that we finally have a female not a male doing this. I love it.Like Jessica said I think that it is a good thing that we have a women bishop of the Episcopal Church in the United States. I hope she does this job the right way. I hope she can get it down path and do it just as good as a guy can do it. I hope that Katherince can do it the way people would wnat her to do it as. Yes the Lutheren pastor can serve in Episcopal church.

I don’t see why other churches don’t ordain women to me it don’t make sence. maby they don’t think that they are equall. or maby they don’t have the same rights in the other counteries that women do in our country.

I think some churches don’t let women get ordained because in other countries women don’t have equal rights. But it is wrong because they were forgiven by Jesus too when he died on the cross. Like in Iraq the women do all the hard work. They may not be in the war but they do the heavy lifting like when a soldier came to our school he said that the men will be walking in front of the women and behind them the women are carrying pots filled with stuff waying about 100 pounds. I don’t know why they don’t let women get ordained but it is wrong.
