New Immigration Law
Posted in Uncategorized on November 3rd, 2007 by His HolinessRecently a new immigration law has gone into effect in New Mexico. One of the provisions of the new law makes it a felony for citizens to provide shelter or transportation to illegal immigrants.
An article reviewing the law can be found at: http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/11/02/oklahoma.immigration/index.html
Keeping in mind the text of Luke 10.25-37 (as well as any other scripture you would like to consider) your task is to consider whether or not this is a law that a Christian can, in good conscience, support, or even obey.

I personally think that we can not as good christians obey this law because if you do love your neibors which is every body you have to help them if you can and to make it a law that you can’t help them at all that’s against the will of god and if you are a good christian you follow god not some law that people made up to HURT other people exspecially if they are another christian like you. Now if you look at it politically it hurts not only the Mexicans but also the Americans who could rely on there buisness and if there loosing buisness it hurts them as well.
